A Lesson Learned?

The Republican Debate aired this week on MSNBC again shows the bias of the media towards the GOP and conservatives and an intolerance of pure debate. The choice of Chris Matthews was bad enough but the questions were leading and meant to paint each candidate and the pro-war and conservative agenda as out of the mainstream. The Republicans should not so much depend on the mainstream media but in their tried and true constituency. The candidates handled themselves very well and none were rattled by Mr. Matthews biased agenda-ridden moderating. The GOP cannot let the media take control of the election as it thinks it can. The candidates must begin to raise the rhetoric about the war and what we as a nation are facing in this war on terror. The Republicans in the House and Senate and especially in the Administration need to make known in a very determined and deliberate way the treachery being committed by the Democrat Party. Everyday all I hear is Democrat defeatist propaganda. Where are the voices of leadership in the White House and the GOP? We are at a historic crossroad in the history of this country and maybe the world if we lose the War in Iraq and our elected representatives are playing politics instead of doing their duty. The recent show of Bill Maher on HBO gave us a clear example of what the strategy of the Left is by discussing at length how "we must stop calling the war in Iraq as the war on Terror because Iraq did not attack us on Septemer 11, 2001" This is the idiocy being preached and considered high-brow intellectulaism by the Media and the Left. I guess, we slow-thinking rightwing nut jobs could not fathom such nuances of politcal thought. Our patriotism is blinding us to the truth.
To the Media, the Democrats and to the left Patriotism is considered a peasant sentimentality, and is for the ignorant. Patriotism and love of country is considered harmful and dangerous to the nation. Let's hope that the GOP and most freedom-loving peoplehave learned their lesson that the "Media" does not control our freedom and does not speak for America!!

Academia- No Debate Allowed

I know the Virginia Tech tragedy has been done and overdone but the story has caused debate in of all places "Academia."
I say this with a half-joking smile on my face because Academia in recent years has steered clear of honest debate on the most crucial
of issues. Just recently an Economics professor at  Emmanuel College in Boston (of which I have a particular fondness) was fired because he attempted
to discuss the possible outcome of the Virginia Tech massacre if students and security personnel were allowed to carry guns, His attempt was
quickly halted and he was fired. WHY? Since when has honest debate become stifled in the place where it most belongs- the classrooms of higher education.
Our colleges and universities are the factories of our future movers and shakers, but I guess you can't be a mover or a shaker unless you
tow the leftist line. In this case- all guns are bad and all guns must be removed from society. Because, you see, if Cho Seung Hui had lived in a world
where there are no guns, then he wouldn't have killed anyone. The big bad guns made him kill, kill and kill again.
As a Catholic I am ashamed that a school which purports to be Catholic would shy away from discussing the TRUTH. That is the real issue here.
The Truth as harsh as it can be to face sometimes should always be dealt with in an open and honest way. Immediately after the tragedy in Virginia,
the media was quick to paint Cho Seung Hui as a loner with mental and emotional problems. He wasn't to blame. No! The convenience and
readily available access to a gun was to blame. His teachers, though they noticed mental and emotional problems "should have been able" to
prevent Cho Seung Hui from carrying out his sick and twisted ideas. The truth of the matter is simple- Guns don't kill people. PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE.
If Cho Seung Hui had not been able to get a gun, he would have used an axe, or a hammer or a kitchen fork, Cho Seung Hui was determined to kill- period.
Our society has to come back to its senses. The State of Maine destroys every gun used in a violent crime. As if the gun has a life of its own and has been
found guilty. The criminal will get probation but the "evil" gun has been destroyed never to kill again. Believe me, I am not making this up. Common
Sense has left the building. The halls of Law and Justice are being filled with lawyers trained at institutions of higher learning that refuse to hold people
responsible for their actions. Institutions like Emmanuel College. Likewise future journalists are filling the airwaves of radio and television.
Our society is in grave danger when it refuses to acknowledge the truth about itself. The truth that we are all responsible for our own actions and that
we must hold accountable those persons who wish us harm. The awful truth about Virginia Tech is that if someone on campus was armed with a gun
might have been able to disarm or kill Cho Seung Hui before or soon after his rampage. Academia and our society as a whole must take its head out of the
sand and face the TRUTH.

Democrats & Defeatism

The Democrats today have once again revealed themselves to be the party of Defeatism and a threat to the
security of the United States. The Senate vote to include an October 1 timetable of US troop withdrawl from Iraq
is downright stupidity. This stupidity is grounded in the in the deeply held anti-american sentiment which is
widespread in the Democrat Party. (A note to my readers- I never refer to the Democrat Party as the "Democratic Party"
because they are not democratic in any way shape or form)
The Democrats are the party of Defeatism because they wish
to see the United States defeated in Iraq and in every place America sets foot around the globe. This party of traitors
has opposed this war and sought to disrupt, harrass and confuse the war effort at every turn. And, like Sen. Kerry, they
all voted for the war but have not supported the war. Hypocrites all and traitors all. I cannot recall any time in history
when a legislative body assembled to vote an end to a war which is still being fought and where soldiers were still fighting
and dying. This is aiding and abetting the enemy. These actions by Democrat legislators does nothing else but embolden
the enemy and puts our brave servicemen in a hopeless situation.
Now, as upset as I am at the Democrats, I am equally upset at the Republicans. I do not see any Republicans stepping forward
and calling to task this Democrat strategy to surrender in Iraq. We need to hear strong and forceful rhetoric in support of
the US policy in Iraq and equally forceful rhetoric aimed against the Democrats. The Democrats have never failed to use the
most offensive name-calling and outlandish charges against the President, the Vice-President and the Administration. Even
top Democrats are starting to charge the President as the cause for September 11. Make no mistake, Iraq is NOT Vietnam because
the fall of Vietnam did not result or pose a threat to our national security, but defeat in Iraq will most certainly have that effect
on the US. We fight in Iraq so we don't have to fight here in America. If the Democrats win this war of ideas, we will be facing
suicide bombers at the corner bus stop, and the local shopping mall. The terrorists will have an oil rich nation to support its global
agenda of Islamo-fascism. The Democrat Party does not want us to succeed and in fact they view the US as the enemy. Ironic that
the American political which fought the "Great War" which saved the world from fascism and evil, is now a driving force behind the
resurgance of fascism which is directed squarely at US! May God help us!

Principles Anyone?

As you can see the name of my blog is "For God and Country" and as far as I can figure these two should always go hand in hand. Today's blog in remembrance of Holy Week, I want to bring up the matter of "Principles" and their importance in today's political culture. St. Thomas More said "When a statesman foregoes his conscience he leads his country down the quick road to chaos."  And now, how many times have we heard this: "I am personally opposed to abortion but I will not impose my beliefs on anyone."

Presidential Candidate Rudy Giuliani said these very words on CNN and also added that he will not change his position in defending Federal Funding of abortions. The Republican Platform has always maintained the Pro-Life position and that is why I am a registered Republican. At this point in history we need someone who is "principled" and does not compromise his/her principles. Over the last 30+ years we have seen what the "Chipping away at principles" has done to our culture. We are familiar with the term "Cafeteria Catholic," well, we have created citizens who have become Cafeteria- Politicians. Persons who are ready to abandon their principles for the sake of votes and political office. The abandonment of the principles in which this country was founded is what has brought us to the state we're in today. We are at the point politcally, where we cannot even decide whether it is correct to defend ourselves against people who are out to destroy us and our nation. England, once the builders of an empire in which the sun never set,  was made impotent against a 3rd rate country like Iran. This happened because, like us, they too had long ago abandoned the common sense virtues of their heritage. Black and White have become Gray and Off-white, where the truth has been made something that is unknowable or unlearnable.

The hatred against the United States and the West by Muslims is a symptom of this mallaise of compromise which has plagued our nation since the Vietnam War. We have abandoned God and His laws and the results are: Abortion, Partial Birth Abortion, Euthanasia, Legalized Suicide, Divorce rate of 50%, Homosexuality as normal behavior- taught in Elementary schools, Pedophilia, Pornography and Child Pornography, Drugs and Violent Crime and I could go on and on. Academia and the Media are mainly to blame for they have promulgated these ideas of Liberalism and Relativism. As much as the Muslims are wrong in their use of terror and murder they are absolutely right in their hatred of all these "Virtues of Liberalism."

Finally here is what 30+ years of Liberalism and Relativism have brought us to. Just a few days ago we remembered the death of Teri Schiavo two years ago. Teri Schiavo was NOT on life support but only required food and water to survive, like all living things do. THIS NATION SENTENCED THIS WOMAN TO DEATH BY DEHYDRATION SIMPLY BECAUSE HER QUALITY OF LIFE WAS DEEMED SUBSTANDARD AND WORTHLESS. Some so-called "enlightened" minds thought it better to water the flowers in her room rather than quench the thirst of this poor woman. This Holy Week let us all remember one other person who said "I Thirst." God help us! God Save us from ourselves!!

Democrat=Anti-American

I am urging all Americans who love their country to email President Bush and urge him not to give up the fight against our Islamo-Fascist enemies. The President must know that the American people and not the media nor the surrender-happy Democrats is where the strength of the United States lies. The American people support VICTORY in Iraq. The Democrat Party supports surrender and defeat in Iraq and more taxes, and loss of freedom at home. The anti-americanism of this treasonous group of politicians shows no sign of abating. Yesterday Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid threatened to defund the troops completely and today Rep. Nancy (Bela) Pelosi is ignoring the US State Dept. and the President by travelling to Syria. This shows complete arrogance and disrespect to the US State Dept. and is usurping the powers of the Presidency by forming foreign policy independent of the duly elected President and his cabinet. Syria is a "Terrorist" state which supports the very forces killing our brave soldiers in Iraq.

There must be a Republican counterattack by the President and the GOP leadership. I urge all Americans who love their country to email the President and urge him to attack the Dems and show them up for what they truly are- Traitors!  Do not let the rhetoric stop. The Republican leadership in the House and Senate must make repeated and bold statements urging support for our troops and especially statements which will reveal the treason of the Democrat Party. This is no time for being polite. The gloves must come off and the Republican attack must be vicious and ruthless. The Democrats have never shied away from making the most outlandish statements and outright lies about President Bush and his administration. These attacks have come from all directions: Hollywood, the network news media and of course its own politicians. The Republican attack must be as strong with one difference- The Truth! The Truth is always more powerful and will certainly "set us free." Please use the following email adress when emailing the president.
president@whitehouse.gov

Also, Pray For President Bush and for our Nation.!!!

True Colors

The Democrat Party shown its true colors and so have the Republicans. The latest ploy by the Dems is nothing short of treason. This recently proposed Troop Funding Bill does nothing short of aiding our enemies in Iraq and demoralizing our nation. The Democrats and the media have been a constant whine of defeatism since the inception of the war. The implications of broadcasting to the enemy the date of US departure will be catastrophic and would embolden the IslamoFascists all over the world. How could anyone see this as "Good for America?"

Since Democrat assumption to majority rule in January they have set out to implement what they have been whining about for the last 8 years:

1) Discredit the President and his administration
2) Vote for the war but hamper and stifle all efforts to win the war
3) Distract the people from the real issues affecting this nation
4) Dscredit the President- they revel in this

If the Democrat Party is ths party of Treason, the Republican Party is the party of APATHY!! Now the Congress is retiring until April 16.  So why should Republican Congressmen retire as well? I thought the funding of the Troops was of paramount importance. The Republicans whould stay in Washington and fight for our troops and for victory in Iraq. The United States is falling apart right in front of our eyes  and no one is doing anything about it. Where is the Republican Response? Why isn't the President being more forceful and take this fight directly to the people? I don't care who it is on Capitol Hill but someone say something. Sen. McCain is the only voice at the moment. The majority of Americans want to win this war and President Bush and the Republicans are ignoring them. Instead we are reading and hearing about AG Gonzales in a fake scandal, the Valerie Plame crap, then the "Gitmo" prisoners rights, Tom Delay and  I could go on and on. Not for anything, but I thought the Republican Party won the elections in 2000 and 2004. The GOP had the majority in Congress for over 10 years and have let the Dems run all over them. Even when the GOP saw the people voting for them and re-electing them they never stood up against these traitorous Dems. I am a member of the Republican Party but you won't see me supporting them with one red cent until they start to show me some guts. The Republican members of Congress should not take the Spring recess and remain in Washington and support our troops who are fighting and dying for ALL OF US!!!!!!!!!!!!!
